Building Technologies Limited evolved out of the control industry in November 2002. As most humble beginnings go BTL’s start was no different, equipped with little more than a laptop and a ladder. By November 2003, BTL’s directors had completed over $1 million dollars worth of commercial building contracts in Auckland, completed works for Siemens Australia, contracted for three months to Siemens UK to assist in the BBC construction project and completed a multi-story building in American Samoa.
The four directors of BTL have a combined total of over 100 years of HVAC industry experience with a strong knowledge of the Siemens, Landis & Gyr and Staefa branded controls. At BTL, we believe our strength is in experience through action, so don't be surprised to see the directors on the front line.
Today BTL have expanded to a staff of 33 people, 25 of which have HVAC control engineering knowledge. The BTL operations team of 23 staff complete various types and sizes of commercial projects and service works throughout New Zealand. BTL also partner with Setpoint solutions in Wellington and throughout the South Island to provide customers with national coverage for the Siemens branded products.
With the advent of open protocol systems, BTL offer an 'Open Service Provider' option to customers for the maintenance of their Building Management System, regardless of what brand that BMS system is. Technology is driving the ‘Open Communication Protocols’ for a competitive product choice, this means that you no longer need to be locked in to one service provider or product.
